Macquarie Correctional Centre
Macquarie Rapid Build Prison (RBP) at Wellington in regional NSW is a 400-bed maximum security correctional centre housing inmates in 25 bed dormitories.
It is the first prison in Australia to adopt a level of trust and encourage inmates to choose their own paths to change through teaching and learning art, music, language and woodwork. Team2 Architects were commissioned to undertake modular designs for some 4,000m2 including a Gatehouse, Program Buildings, Clinic / Reception and Visitor Centre.
