Riversdale Orthodontics

Team2 was engaged in 2021 to design a modular 600+ m² Orthodontic Medical Clinic in Hawthorn East, VIC, for planning and VCAT approval. The building responds to a residential growth zone site and is oriented to attract southern light for staff and treatment. A landscape buffer zone protects neighbouring properties and the busy Riversdale Rd tram route. On the first and second floors, front-facing receptions and waiting areas overlook a mature tree, marking the start of an elevated journey through consulting and treatment rooms. These rooms look out over the tree-lined rear, offering expansive views.
The materiality reflects the area’s modern residential feel, with textured white render and a palette of greys adding depth, while warm timber panelling adds a natural touch. The modular building method, linking units together, delivers the required space and meets the fast construction programme, supporting the orthodontic practice’s growth in the local community.
